Psychotic Death Cult Photo Album

Hamas member and aspiring suicide terrorist Taher Al-Ja'ara, posing with his mother, superimposed on a background of "paradise". Al-Ja'ara was elevated into martyrdom by Israeli forces on April 22, 2002. He was apparently responsible for the bombing of a bus at Emmanuel in December 2001 that killed 10.

The Al-Qassam Brigade, the military wing of Hamas which has murdered and crippled hundreds of innocent people, has a website, at www.kataebq.com. [Note: The website was once at qassam.net, which has been offline for several weeks. It has since been found at kataebq.com -- Sept. 12, 2002] Each of the group's "martyr"s has a one page biography and a one page "album" of photographs. Every Al-Qassam member who is killed in the line of duty is considered a martyr. This includes suicide bombers as well as those who are dispatched into martyrdom by Israeli forces before they kill anybody else.

The photo albums are grisly stuff, they are solely about death: the "martyr" posing with guns; a final portrait before a planned suicide operation; bleeding victims of their terror attacks; the "martyr"'s bullet-riddled corpse; the "martyr"'s funeral; proud grieving family members.

Take a look at the pictures on this organization's own website and see for yourself how this group chooses to honor itself. The Al-Qassam Brigade is about killing, being killed, and the celebration of killing. None of this killing seems to serve any strategic plan, except as blind revenge, an expression of religious hysteria, and as a placeholder for a viable program for creating a Palestinian state. In short, the Al-Qassam Brigade can best be described as a psychotic death cult.

The site is entirely in Arabic. Here are a few suggestions for some things to look at:

Muhammad Al-Ghoul suicide bomber, killed 19 people, injured 74 on a Jerusalem bus, June 18, 2002. See his photo album, which includes shots of Muhammad in fatigues; his grieving mother; Ariel Sharon looking at body bags; and the dead bus driver slumped over his steering wheel
Abdul Baset Odeh suicide bomber, killed 29 people, injured 140 at the Park Hotel Passover Seder in Netanya, March 27, 2002. See his photo album which includes pictures of bloody victims being carried out of the hotel; and his heroic martyr poster which decorates walls throughout the West Bank and Gaza. The bottom of the poster says: "carried out the brave operation of revenge in Um Khaled (Netanya)"
Sa'id Al Hotary suicide bomber, killed 21 people, injured 120 at the Dolphinarium Disco in Tel Aviv, June 1, 2001. See his photo album and his heroic martyr poster
Moayed Salah "engineer", taken out by security forces November 8, 2001. See his photo album with a picture of him next to a scale model of the Al Omar mosque; scenes from his funeral march; and the various shots of his father, feted as a guest of honor.
Muhammad Farhat suicide gunman, killed 5 teenage boys and wounded 24 at a boarding school in Atzmona, See his photo album which shows him dressed in fatigues and playing with guns. Also see the final testament video he made with his burka-clad mother.
Ali Abu Hajla was killed in a gunfight with the IDF on November 6, 2001 after ambushing an army officer near Nablus. His cell was plotting to assassinate Defense Minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer. See his photo album with a ghastly picture of his bullet-riddled face.
Muhammad Halss was killed by the IDF in an unsuccessful attempt to infiltrate the Gaza community of Netzarim on March 12, 2002. See his photo album which includes a picture of him and a friend praying with their guns in front of them. Also see his final testament video with his mother, who is also holding a gun. Should she not be prosecuted as a co-conspirator?

(some of the above background information is from IsraelInsider.com, Israel Foreign Ministry, and news sources)

This page contains an index of all the "martyrs" since 1990, organized by year of death. Click on the year to see a full rogues gallery.

See this collection of heroic martyr posters, such as this one of Jerusalem bus bomber, Muhammad al-Ghoul:
