Mourning in Arabia

"Palestinians across Arab world mourn"

BAQAA, Jordan -- Palestinian refugees took to the streets of the Arab world Thursday to mourn Yasser Arafat, firing shots into the air, burning American and Israeli flags, and shedding tears for the man who was the symbol of their struggle for statehood. In a Jordanian camp, barefoot boys brandished toy machine guns.
Some cultures Sit Shiva and mourn their dead quietly. Other cultures practice a Religion of Peace.

(To the tune of Oklahoma!)

Innnnnfitada
where the bricks come flyin through the sky!
All those garbage dumps
and Arab chumps
and the food is shat upon by flies!

Innnnnnfitada
Every night the PLO sits by
In the smoldering smoke
it makes them choke
when they realize the rat done died!

They know that it's Israeli land!
But their need for denial is grand!
So when we say (yeah!)
Ole Yasser's gone away! (yeah!)
We're only saying
"You're such a waste, intifada!
Intifada, Shalom!"

1) If that's mourning, then that's morning in hell.

2) Simple suggestion for Mid-East Peace: Pick up the phone, call Queen Rania of Jordan, tell her to lead a bunch of "peacekeepers" into the West Bank and put her in charge.

She's pro-America, pro-womens' rights, pro-tolerance and her husband's one of America's buddies - and her troops can be counted on to hold back the radicals (I hope).

I frankly don't see any other option other than "The West Wing" option: American peacekeepers in the West Bank.

Why in the world would should any American troops be committed to separating the Israeli's and the Palestinians?

Israel wants peace. I question whether even a majority of the Palestinians want anything but the destruction of Israel. Any foreign troops on the ground would be unable to stop all of the bombers and other attacks but would effectively stop 100% of the Israeli efforts to defend themselves.

This military force would become a shield for the Palestinians to avoid the consequences of their violent acts aimed at Israel and provide additional targets for attacks from Humas and others in the West Bank and Gaza. Peace will never exist unless either both parties genuinely embrace it and compromise or it is imposed on the loser of a real war fought by Israel. No outside party will ever achieve a settlement. If that was possible, it would have happened years ago.

A significant majority of Iraqi's want a free and peaceful Iraq. That is a country that deserves our help and military presence. Israel has a military with no equal in the middle-east and can defend itself. The Palestinians must demonstrate they have the same desires as the Iraqi's before peace will exist along this border. If they do, the presence of US troops or any others will be unnecessary.

I posted at http://www.thatliberalmedia.com/archives/003053.html some of this, but here goes:

I happened to get a rather offensive e-mail from KIRO calling Arafat's ability to make people aware of Palestinians "triumphant" and posted it here at (http://josef-a-k.blogspot.com/2004/11/local-cheerleading-for-terrorist.html) along with my commentary and a call to action against KIRO!

I also posted at (http://josef-a-k.blogspot.com/2004/11/why-i-refuse-to-have-anything-to-do.html) my e-mail to KIRO at seanews@kirotv.com.

Figure you might want to know...
