Seattle Reacts to Bush's victory

Overheard in my favorite neighborhood coffee house this morning.

"Is this a great country, or what?"
"Or what."
"You know we have a new Vice-President? It's Jesus."
"Is it true that the IRS will send every family a Bible along with their tax refund?"
"Puuurrrraise Jesus!"

The P-I reports:

Artist Larry Nielsen drove onto the plaza in his custom "Buddha buggy," complete with rooftop temple, lotus flowers and "Regime change" bumper stickers, barking through a loudspeaker: "That's right! Revolution now!" Speaking through a Bush mask he'd accessorized with fangs and blood, he predicted democracy could be replaced with theocracy in the next term.
Will Larry Nielsen support regime change in Iran? Please, no wagering.

Today's editorial cartoon in the Seattle Post-Inteligencer

Yes, they really think those three words are more frightening than Beslan, Madrid, Bali, Hamas, Hizbollah, Taliban, Al Qaeda, etc.

Q: What does "Post-Intelligencer" mean anyway?
A:"Post-Intelligencer" is to intelligence as "Post-Coital" is to coitus.

Elsewhere in this state, college students are taking their pants off to protest democracy:

Riley Sweeney, an 18-year-old Western Washington University freshman, elected to wear his protest: He showed up in a gray fedora and checkered blue bathrobe.

"I am in mourning because of the decision our country has made," he said. "I don't think I'll be wearing pants for a while."

A new phrase: Militant Securlarists. This is the group of intolerant secularists led by Thomas Friedman. While the intolerant evangelicals believe that if you do not agree with Jesus you go to Hell, the militant securlarists want to send you to hell if you do not believe in them. For them, somehow evangelicals and others of faith believe that the religious do not belong in the ruling corridors of america. Well, maybe the first amendment says that no religious person shall be elected, but that is not how i read it. It is not legislating religion to forbid homesexual marriage. This belief in full secularism - while proboably supported by the text - aint where the action is. I side with the evangelicals cause they are in the ascendancy and in a war against barbarians, I like my barbarians with their TV stations beaming god awful gospel music over aljazeera beaming beheadings.

ALl i can say to Thomas Friedman is either get saved today, or get out of the way.

The white liberal whiners are managing to really demonstrate hypocracy and racism.

1. I have heard many of the same complaints are Bible readers. Yet, black voters, who voted over 90% for Kerry, are the most religious demographic group in American. The left is demonstrating their back handed racism because they tolerate religious behavior of blacks that they would never tolerate of whites.

2. The number of states where Kerry received a majority of the white vote can be counted of less than two hands. If the Democrats want to win the next presidency, they have to find away to appeal to middle class whites. Yet, they will go out of their way to alienate that very group.

Even more than their narrow-minded ideas, republicans love money and profits. This is where right-minded people must attack now. Not to change their minds (impossible--have you ever tried to hold a discussion with one?), but to wither them away.

Stop doing business with republicans. Period. Turn their bottom line red. Put them out of business. Let them find out what needing help is like.

For starts, this generally means all big businesses--they are almost all led by republicans making every last dime from you they can squeeze out. Your supermarket, stock broker, bank, credit cards, delivery services, cable provider, etc. ad nauseum.

It often means small businesses as well--butcher, green grocer, hair stylist or barber. Ask the proprietor who they voted for in November. If they voted republican, bid them goodbye.

This is a golden opportunity time for new democratic entrepreneurs and a resurgence of a spirit of community and concern for our fellow man.

Find small and caring businesses--preferably without stockholders. Give them your trade. Yup, it will mean some sacrifices but not for long if we all stick together. It will get the hopelessly self-serving and self-righteous among us out of our lives.

Have hope. As we have done so often, we chose a dullard for our candidate for president. There are brilliant and charismatic leaders of the liberal cause out there. Let's make the right choice next time and not let the political machine choose for us.

Until then, hunker down. Make some sacrifices. Get spouters of the old testament out of government. Make America worthy of being proud again.

Ciao,

Wonderer

I would like to mentioned that NO illicit drugs or substances were consumed in my little pantless escapade in Bellingham. Thank you.
