Seattle Blog Bash
I met a few other bloggers last night at Pike Place Pub.
Cheering the Red Sox pennant victory:
L-R: Andy MacDonald, Dave Winer, Al Hedstrom (hidden behind the outraised arm), Paul "No Republicans" Andrews, Dave Neiwert, Jacqueline Passey
Paul "No Republicans" Andrews was very gracious and shook my hand, even though I'm a Republican.
Dave Winer refused to shake my hand because I'm a Republican. He also told me that he'd be more comfortable with the Iranian mullahs possessing nuclear weapons than with George W. Bush possessing nuclear weapons. Yes, he really said that.
Jacqueline has more commentary, including a complete list of attendees.
UPDATE: Bird Dog of the Tacitus group blog was also there. He left before the cameras came out, but he has a nice write-up of his own. Only one correction: He wrote that he and I were the only Republicans present. Andy MacDonald is also a Republican.

Yes, he really said that.
Nice guys, these Democrats that you hang out with. Love for their fellow man just kind of oozes from their every pore, doesn't it.
Wow, well, at least he was honest.
He's a Red Sox fan, too? My hatred has doubled.
I'm curious: was the comment (and photo) about somebody refusing to shake your hand just a joke, or did he really do that?
Dave Winer is a hypocritical elitist, multi-millionaire, and hard-nosed businessman that pretends to be "of the people" in blogs while doing only what benefits him directly in his daily life.
I have no doubt that he said stupid things about how Islamic terrorists should have nukes and then refused to shake Stefan's hand...
I've had to shake the hands of a number of Republicans (haven't you changed the name of your party to The Hypocrite Party yet?) lately as I was one of the official counters at Boeing Field over the past two weeks, and I have to tell you that some of them have limp, clammy handshakes. Dave Winer and others might know that, and not want to repeat the expierence.

Unfortunately I can't change my diary to note that MacDonald's a Republican but, in my weak defense, I think he showed up after the informal poll was taken.
