John Kerry: International Man of Mystery

The New York Sun reports that "Mystery Surrounds Kerry's Navy Discharge".

An official Navy document on Senator Kerry's campaign Web site listed as Mr. Kerry's "Honorable Discharge from the Reserves" opens a door on a well kept secret about his military service.

The document is a form cover letter in the name of the Carter administration's secretary of the Navy, W. Graham Claytor. It describes Mr. Kerry's discharge as being subsequent to the review of "a board of officers." This in it self is unusual. There is nothing about an ordinary honorable discharge action in the Navy that requires a review by a board of officers.

According to the secretary of the Navy's document, the "authority of reference" this board was using in considering Mr. Kerry's record was "Title 10, U.S. Code Section 1162 and 1163. "This section refers to the grounds for involuntary separation from the service. What was being reviewed, then, was Mr. Kerry's involuntary separation from the service. And it couldn't have been an honorable discharge, or there would have been no point in any review at all. The review was likely held to improve Mr. Kerry's status of discharge from a less than honorable discharge to an honorable discharge.

Hmm. We also learn that
Mr. Kerry has repeatedly refused to sign Standard Form 180, which would allow the release of all his military records. And some of his various spokesmen have claimed that all his records are already posted on his Web site. But the Washington Post already noted that the Naval Personnel Office admitted that they were still withholding about 100 pages of files.
I'm sure major media will give this as much attention as they gave Bush's National Guard service.

"I'm sure major media will give this as much attention as they gave Bush's National Guard service."

Sure and what other unbiased friends do you have?

I guess Bush didn't do so well in the debate.

I'm sure they will -- they'll ignore it completely, as they have ignored the absolutely *appalling* service record of the spoiled, silver-spooned brat we call president....

I used to be a Republican. Now I'm just ashamed of the party. There is no excuse for supporting a man as ethically bankrupt as Shrub.

"they'll ignore it completely, as they have ignored the absolutely *appalling* service record of the spoiled, silver-spooned brat we call president...."

A Google news search for "Bush National Guard" returned 18,400 hits.

Somebody in the MSM is looking at Bushes record.

18,400 hits and people still believe/don't know why bush didn't take a physical, failed to report in alabama, or how he was able to get credits for service completed outside the required time period.

hell, 60+% of republicans believe saddam was involved with 9-11.

oh, new headline...bush to tell world that sun revolves around earth....

let's see what the MSM does with that.....

i just spent a week in mexico. when your average mexican calls the president dumb, it takes on a whole new meaning.....

this country's political hegemony is becoming a joke around the world.....

When I'm looking for a well-run country, Mexico isn't very high on my list....

Mexico has fantastic natural resources, and remains a pit.

Andy, I believe that what Dinesh means is:

"Even those stupid greasers don't like Bush."

See, it's a way of showing his sensitivity to the international community. Glad the mask finally slipped, dinesh. Between your subtle racism and Simon's subtle anti-religous bigotry, I think you have the morally bankrupt left pretty well covered.
