I'm a little offended by this: "Shark Repellent Deemed a Breakthrough"
Researchers say they finally have found a potent repellent to drive away sharks, after testing off Bimini island in the Bahamas. It's a goal that's eluded scientists for decades.Sharks aren't easily repelled. We're a pretty tolerant bunch, after all. The question is, who are the intolerant ones who want to send us away?
The repellent, called A-2 because it was the second recipe tried, is derived from extracts of dead sharks that Stroud gathered at New Jersey fish markets and piers.Ah, the bottomless depravity of the intolerant. Posted by Stefan Sharkansky at July 30, 2004 10:32 PM
Obviously it's the wildly biased editorial department of the Seattle P-I, fearful of the acidic comments on their 'news' that seem to come from some shark's nest in the North End. They've spread their nets world wide looking for an article to boost their morale, and managed to find the discovery of the mysterious "A-2".
But caution, editors! It's only a digit away from A-1, a commercial steak sauce. Our local chefs are wild to try this glamorous "A-2" as a condiment the next time we barbecue an Editor before feeding him to the sharks.
Posted by: Insufficiently Sensitive on July 31, 2004 08:27 AMI think Tom Douglas is featuring A-2 at Wild Ginger. So far, no lawyer has been able to get within a hundred yards of the place.
Posted by: Steve Skubinna on July 31, 2004 10:25 AMIf there's any doubt about the wild biases of the P-I editors, look at their Sunday attempt to support Joe Wilson's specious charges against the Bush administration, in the face of the Senate Intelligence Commission's demolition of Wilson's story.
The editors have escalated from political bias to religious faith in their denial of the Commission's evidence. So now a bottle of A-2, held up against the editors, is the modern equivalent of holding up a cross against the forces of sin.
