Christine Gregoire Meltdown

Washington gubernatorial candidate / Attorney General Christine Gregoire finally settled the lawsuit over her office's botched appeal and subsequent scapegoating of an innocent employee. The story was buried by announcing the settlement on the Friday before the Fourth of July. Another several hundred thousand of your and my tax dollars went flying out of the state treasury because of Gregoire's mismanagement.

"I consider this a compassionate and reasonable settlement to a very unfortunate mistake," the attorney general said.

A more compassionate and reasonable settlement would be for this incompetent gasbag to drop out of the governor's race and spare us from having to listen to her any more.

Even the P-I says that Gregoire is full of it:

Attorney General Christine Gregoire called it a "good deal" for the taxpayers ... Capps' attorney calculates the tab at $350,000 upfront and a total of $1.5 million over the remainder of Capps' career. We still don't know who was responsible for the mistakes made on the original case.

So the "good deal" for taxpayers was what -- that the state didn't spend another $500,000 at trial, lose and have to pay out the $3 million in damages Capps asked?

Whoopee.

Gregoire is finished.

Not so fast Shark, your're forgeting this is Washington. In the eye's of many Dem's, any Democrat, no matter how corrupt or inept will always get a vote over the most qualified or moderate Republican.

You're correct, Gary B., but look for the SATCU Left (So Angry They've Come Unhinged)to put Sims in the general. Despite her problems as AG, Gregoire is considerably less liberal than Sims.

The old adage of running to extremes in the primaries will even be more pronounced. Whoever feeds the most red meat to the angry liberals wins in September. IMO, that'll be Sims.

I wish I could believe that Gregoire is done. I refuse to believe until after the election. I agree that Washingtonians won't pay attention to her incompetence. I live in Olympia, and it seems that incompetence is rewarded.

I am saving the front page of the Sea Times you pointed to. The photo compliments her incompetence. (But the online version prints w/o the photo.) So I will post it in the coffee room in September. A few stories about her record and Dino Rossi starts looking very good.

whoaaaa! i can;t see you being the head of(governor) washington state, as the legal adivsor you allowed the I200 to pass with out any thought or regardes for the black's of this state as to what effects it would have on any one of them to get a higher EDUCATION! also you allowed the POLICE departments of this state to close down all and any business that had a larger and mostly black clientel! Happy Valley, Uncle John;s, Jersy's, Hollywood under ground,as far as my is concerned along with many others voters you will not get our vote to help destroy us!! just to name a few!!

I leave Seattle for a short time and come back to find this awful piece of work in the Governors chair. Her first and most obvious fault: She is Lawyer....UGH!!!! All she has been doing since she sat down is scheme up new taxes in a state where we are being taxed to death and accountability is a joke.

Gregoire is a tragedy as a governor and will do nothing but hurt the people while making her friends happy.

Impeach the bitch before it's too late!!!!!!

Christine Gregoire should be impeached.

Should we start a bet on what tax will be raised next? While we are at it, I dont think we are taxed enough for BREATHING! Really, why don't they just add a $.08 tax to that too.

Oh, wait!

She said she WASN'T going to raise taxes... I wonder what it is she thinks she is doing then?

Wait! I see a penny on the floor, better hide it!
