The Seattle Post Intelligencer printed my letter to the editor today about the Seattle School Levy. It makes the same points as this blog entry from Tuesday, compressed to fit the 200-word limit.
I thank the P-I for granting me space on their letter page today.

Congrats on getting your letter published.
I just noticed that the superintendent of Shoreline SD (and 34 others) is going to sue our elected representatives because they don't fully fund education. He is suing me. And we pay thousands for his schools. In the Shoreline "The Enterprise." http://www.enterprisenewspapers.com/?city=shoreline . 1/23/04. But the story is not online.
Congratulations indeed. But today they've provided space in the letters column for the school minions to shoot back at you, along the lines of 'but it's just the same tax you paid before'. What they want buried is your analysis of context, perspective and just how much it really is.
