Moral Equivalence

Today's headline from the Seattle Times

with the sub-head that Islamic Jihad official assassinated.

Would the Seattle Times likewise refer to an American pre-emptive strike on a terrorist as, say, "Al Qaeda official assassinated?" Of course not.

I wonder what that Islamic Jihad "official" was in charge of? Could it have been smuggling arms and explosives? Could it have been recruiting suicide bombers or selecting their targets?
Maybe he could have been the "official" in charge of planting stories with the news services, that are picked up by gullible liberal papers like the Seattle Times, that portray an out and out terrorist organization as some sort of social welfare group that only reluctantly takes up arms to defend itself.

The NY Daily News and surprisingly the NY Times both had sympathetic heartwrenching pictures of funerals for the killed, compared to the Seattle Times picture enclosed.

Also I note that the Seattle Times calls him an
"Islamic Jihad Official"

What the fuck is an official of a Terrorist or at the least Militant Organization?

Yet, Jews preying at Rachel's Tomb are "ultra Orthodox Jews" and Ariel Sharon is a "hard line Israeli Prime Minister"

And again a head of an organization that plans out the murder of civilians at bus stops, discos, pizzerias etc... is A FUCKING ""OFFICIAL""!!

Here is a quote at the end of the article -
Humaid had headed Islamic Jihad's military wing throughout the 3-year-old Palestinian uprising against Israel.

What's notable is how Palestinian officials complain about incursions and targeted assassinations. However, Hamas has agreed to a cease fire in exchange for Israel ceasing to target its leaders. All those worthless negotiations with the feckless Egyptians and Hamas relents only to Israel because they're afraid of all being taken the fuck out.

Yaalon notes this in the article.
