Hamas slams Mideast peace moves, vows more attacks

The Islamic militant group Hamas vowed on Friday to resume suicide bombings against Israel as tens of thousands of Palestinians demonstrated against diplomatic efforts to achieve Middle East peace.
Imagine that.

It is not as if they have held their fire. The ISrealis ahve foiled at least 25 terror attacks since the Oct. 4 Maxim Restaurant atrocity. This is due to:

1. great intelligence on the ground in the West Bank

2. the superb work of the IDF, Border Police, G.S.S.

3. the efficiencey of the not yet fully completed security fence which is in place especially along the seam line. The security fence has already paid for itself in lives already saved.

Off topic - buy on www.amazon.com "Arafat's War" by Efraim Karsh. After reading it you will wonder why this man was not exterminated at least 37 years ago.

Joel, a short answer to your question? The State Dept.
The Israelis could have shot him when he was forced to flee Beirut. The same story we have been hearing since the start of the Roadmap.

I have not seen any response to this "ZOA Strongly Protests Statement By Bush Official Claiming Israel has "Done Too Little For Peace"

http://israpundit.com/archives/003713.html#more

"Deputy Assistant Secretary of State David Satterfield made that statement (New York Times, Dec. 12, 2003) at a conference in Rome on December 11, 2003, at which the U.S. and other countries pledged to provide hundreds of millions of dollars to the terrorist Palestinian Authority regime, despite the PA's financing and ordering of suicide bombings against Israel and its long record of corrupt misuse of international donations."
Same old tune.

I think arafat has not been killed because he is the best among a horrible lot. He leads the palestinians down entirely reckless paths which are at least not the worst possible for israel - if he had been smart, he would have called a cease fire, demanded negotiations with his offer being that israel concede for such a truce, and get a better deal than the clinton briding proposals. although his violence has cost lives, it has probably saved israel a much larger war involving real weapons to be used by the PLO. I say we should never ever kill arafat, he is too stupid to ever want him out of there.

Intersting point. Maybe sometimes the best defense is to have a stupid oponent and Arafat is incredibly stupid. THere is an old say9ing "Lord, please make my enemies ridiculous." Enjoy the capture of Saddam Hussein!

you all seemed shocked at hamas' respnse to recent events. perhaps, should you decide to read with an open mind, you will understand more the reason behind this anger if you read the following.
