Self-fisking British Leftists

Volunteers in London are preparing for George Bush's visit next week

They are building a 10-foot-high likeness of the president that they plan to topple, à la Saddam Hussein's statues in Iraq.
Next thing you know, those "volunteers" will be coming to the United States to liberate all of Bush's torture victims from the prison camps and also dig up a mass grave or two.

On the other hand, things are worse in Paris.

The USA is a big country, so Bush doesn't really need prison "camps." The 2,000 or so people he threw in prison without access to lawyers or courts got scattered around the existing prisons. Liberating them was effectively thwarted by refusing to say who was taken, where they were taken, or why they were taken.

The exception, of course, is Gitmo, where we litterally have nothing but the Bush administration's word that these folks are enemy combatants. Probably some of them are, but almost certainly at least one isn't. What if that one were you?

Simon, the title was "Self-fisking British Leftists". Congratulations, I don't know if you're British but you pretty much fisk yourself with your ridiculous moral relativism. "What if that were one of you"? you ask? Well, Simon, what if that were you kneeling at the edge of a pit with a gun to your head? Comparing that to someone in an American prison getting three hots and a cot is just wrong.

Since you seem to be incapable of abstract thinking in response to my post may I recommend you bring up the US "support" of Saddam, supporting the Contras and, what the hell, throw in Wounded Knee. And you forgot to mention that they were taken away in the night. These people are always taken away in the night, it's so much more gestapo.
