Iran reneges

It shouldn't surprise anyone, except maybe the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, that Iran is reneging on its commitment to open its nuclear program to inspections:

Iran's supreme leader said Sundaythat "excessive demands" from abroad could prompt Tehran to retreat from a recent commitment to give inspectors from the U.N. nuclear watchdog more access to its atomic facilities.
One word: Osirak.

I haven't been following this story too closely but I believe doing this was to "Wheedle and Crawfish" in the words of GWB.

Second word, amen.

Iran isn't reneging on anything yet. They're just posturing like everyone else. Saying they are reneging is as much a lie as anything you've complained about Molly Ivans saying.
