Molly Ivins was right...

... about at least one thing:

On Oct. 21, the foreign ministers of Britain, France and Germany persuaded Iran to accept stricter international inspections of its nuclear sites and to stop production of enriched uranium. This might seem, to the simple-minded, to be good news indeed.
As a matter of fact, the simple-minded did take it to be good news.

SHARK IF YOU DON'T START REPLYING IN COMMENTS I'M GOING TO TAKE YOU OFF MY FAVES LIST.....

Fisking of the article -

One test will be whether Iran's cooperation continues over time, not just when the world is considering possible sanctions for violations of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Iran's gradual progress toward democracy argues for optimism.

Iran's gradual progress towards democracy? Are you kidding? How does someone like this actually get to be Editor at a major newspaper?

And this guy actually believes? or wants us to believe that Iran has stopped production of building a nucleur device? Its called a delaying tactic.

For the moment, at least, the Iranian action appears positive enough to satisfy most of the world. While Europeans congratulated themselves on showing the United States that diplomacy works better than force, the administration put out the word that its firmness had led to Iranian concessions.

What planet x does this guy come from?

There's plenty of credit to go around. Iran's decision to clearly distance itself from any nuclear weapons development aims ought to ease tensions for much of the world. That is good news, not a sign of evil doing.

Yeah, Iran feverishly trying to build a nucleur device, noticing how North Korea is coddled, has SUDDENLY decided that they will simply stop building one because the "sensible Europeans" and "crude Americans" convinced them its not good to be "baddies" and now not only are they going to "behave" but their "continiuing progress (smashing democracy protests) towards 'democracy'"
is going to eventually cause us all to join hands and sing cumbaya.

HOW THE HELL DO MORONS WITH NO SENSE ACTUALLY BECOME EDITOR OR A MAJOR NEWSPAPER?

Up until this agreement with the Europeans, Iran claimed it wasn't enriching uranium. The Iranians are pathological liars who only fools like the Europeans and Molly Ivins take at their word.

The agreement was made with Khatami who has a big title but no real power. Plus Khatami said it was only temporary. The Europeans are suicidal delusional appeasers. The fact that they believe the agreement with Iran and the Geneva agreement with the Palestinians are breakthroughs just shows how out of touch with reality they are.

Mike, if you would temper your arguments with facts, specifics, examples, and/or logic, I could conceivably be persuaded by them. Blathering and bloviating about how ridiculous something is doesn't change anyone's mind.
