Jordan's Islamists call for abolition of peace treaty with Israel :

The influential Islamic Action Front party urged Jordanians Sunday to close ranks and put pressure on the government to cancel its 9-year-old peace treaty with Israel.

"We hereby call on all Jordanians - particularly deputies, scientists, intellectuals and writers - to step up efforts with a view of forcing the government to abolish the unjust peace pact with the Zionist entity," the IAF said in a statement marking the ninth anniversary of the signing of the treaty on October 26, 1994.
The Religion of Peace, always true to its name.

Shark I know you NEVER reply to any comments or questions, but here goes anyway.

"Religion of Peace" comment is beneath you, its something I might say, :-)))

What's happening is what I think Sharon believes is the end destiny there. The whole thing is build on a house of cards waiting to crumble at some point. When people have seething resentment, are educated for violence and there is repression sooner or later everything's going to burst. What this means is that Israel is in a VERY dangerous neighborhood, and even the future relied on partners Turkey and Jordan on which the US is building its plans for a remodeled and modernized Middle East are showing signs increasingly that the general populatin is a lot more radical than the government is.

We saw this when the Parliament threw out the law banning Honor Killings twice! after the King signed in when Parliament was out of session, or whatever they call it there.

Also, I still don't get the main point of Steyn's article you posted. It was a hard read and he doesn't clearly explain to a layman what his point about the decentralization of elections verus whatever the current system is.
