Now I know where Tony Auth got the idea for last week's cartoon where he depicted the Star of David as a prison fence. He plagiarized from the Nazis

[hat tip: Mike Silverman. And while you're perusing Mike's blog, be sure to note his observation about Pope John Paul II and evil]
UPDATE: The Seattle Times prints my letter to the editor condemning the cartoon.
Posted by Stefan Sharkansky at August 03, 2003 09:44 PMThis guy is a supreme cocksucker. Those letters to the Editor which were concluded by a supportive one for the author didn't even put a dent in the act. Instead, it was like it was just a "controversial" or "provocative" drawing.
As bad or worse than Sharon being drawn with a hooknose and yomicka?
I'm not surprised. Most of the anti Israel types are National Socialist types as well.
Posted by: Joel on August 4, 2003 05:03 AMby the way I thought your name was Sharansky like the one in Israel? What kind of name is Shar k ansky? Did they just screw up at the 'check in counter' at Ellis Island? lol :-0)
The point of this post was can you post a link to the Sharon catoon as well here? The one with the hook nose and yomicka I think tossing money down for Bush to follow?
It would make a nice trifecta.
Mike
My great-grandfather came from a town in what is now Belarus. Back then it was just a province of the Tsarist Empire. Sharkansky was his original name, we have his Russian passport. In fact, he came to the US in the 1880s, before the Ellis Island immigration station was even opened.
I've also heard of Sharkanskys from the Ukraine. Don't know whether or not there was a connection.
Posted by: Stefan Sharkansky on August 4, 2003 05:46 PMThe Russian immigration here seemed to be in the late 1800's and the Eastern European others like Poland at the Turn of the Century. Russian on one side and Polish / Lithuanian on the other.
