Maps of "Palestine"
Maps of "Palestine" like this one appear in almost every Palestinian institution as both symbolic logos and as serious attempts at cartography. The funny thing is that these maps include not only what might one day be a Palestinian state, but also all of .... Israel. I've posted a collection of such maps, culled mostly from Palestinian web sites. Take a look and ask yourself what this might tell us about the Palestinians' true aspirations regarding peaceful coexistence with Israel

So all the Israelis have to do is take Gaza and the West Bank and then re-name their country? Too easy. There must be a catch. (But hey, if that's all it takes . . . )

No surprises here. According to a recent survey published in Ha'Aretz, 51% of the Palestinians believe that the point of the current intifada is to recapture *all* of Palestine, including Israel.

Its actually very sophisticated indoctrination. The other thing you see a lot of are pictures of the Al Asqa Mosque in Jerusalem. (or "Al Quds" as they call it).

The indoctrination as to "Palestine" being everything from Jordon River to the Sea is to make the existence of Israel unacceptable, and the polls show its is working. The indoctrination as to the Mosque is to make Jerusalem an all but impossible issue in negotiations.

Stefan, is what's posted the whole collection you found? (What I'm asking is, did you find any maps that *did* show Israel without calling it Palestine?)
